Federal law prohibits
tampering with, disabling, or destroying
lavatory smoke detectors.
It is rather annoying
As you sit enjoying
Your flight to Tampa
And the shrimp scampi
And an amber nectar
Served on your tray table
And you hear from the lavatory
The incriminatory sound
Of the sudden void
Of a smoke detector that was been destroyed
Perhaps by an old gold prospector or
Disabled Episcopal rector
Or unemployed cable TV director
Or toy inspector
Who as a joke
Or because they needed to smoke
Went to the lavatory
And closing the door he
Reached up to rip its
Guts out, as the law prohibits,
And the plane landed in Arkansas
And federal law
Enforcement ran up the ramp
And nabbed the suspected destroyer.
So insofar as you are able,
Whether you are man or boy,
Do not tamper with or disable
Or for that matter destroy
Smoke detectors in the lavatory,
It is in the category
Of a major faux pas
And prohibited by federal law.
O do not tamper, disable or destroy
Lavatory smoke detectors
Federal law prohibits tampering with, disabling, or destroying lavatory smoke detectors.
